Terms & Conditions

Introduction

This document constitutes a binding agreement between the user (“User” or “You”) and the UAE Media Council (“Council”, “We”, or “Us”). By using the Council’s website or any of its related services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions, including the provisions relating to data protection and information security.

First: Intellectual Property Rights
  • All copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights in all materials on the Council’s website—including, without limitation, images, audio materials, graphics, reports, files, software, data, applications, texts, videos, logos, templates, artworks, and animations—are the property of the Council.

  • Use of the information published on the Council’s website is limited to personal use, research and studies, information-seeking, and/or educational purposes, including requesting services provided via the website.

  • Use of information for any commercial purposes is not permitted, including but not limited to selling, distributing, or republishing published materials

Second: Scope of Warranties and Responsibilities
  • The Council reserves the right to modify or delete published information without prior notice.

  • The Council disclaims liability for warranties and conditions relating to the published information.

  • The Council is not responsible for any damage or loss, of any kind, arising directly or indirectly from the information published or from use of the website.

  • The Council assumes no responsibility for loss of data or damage to computer systems resulting from the use of the website or the materials published therein, and disclaims any warranties that the Council’s website and/or the service provider is free of harmful programs.

  • The user shall bear any damages resulting from the use of the Council’s website and shall indemnify the Council in the event of any harm or claim arising from the user’s use of the website or the information published through it.

  • This document constitutes the agreement between the user and the Council with respect to use of the Council’s website and nullifies any prior agreements in this regard.

Third: Registration in the website
  • Some sections of the Council’s website are available only to registered members, such as use of electronic services and others.

  • Use of inappropriate usernames is prohibited.

  • When registering on the Council’s website, the user undertakes to provide accurate, correct, current, and complete information.

  • The user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password upon completion of registration and is responsible for all activities conducted under their username.

  • Attempting to access another user’s data without authorization is prohibited.

  • Attempting to use another user’s username to try to access the Council’s website is prohibited.

  • If a password becomes known to any other unauthorized user, the user must immediately notify the Council so that the account can be disabled.

  • The Council has the right to terminate access to or use of the website without notice in the event of a breach of these Terms and Conditions, and the Council will apply all available means to prevent access.

Fourth: External Links
  • The Council is not responsible for the content or security of external websites linked to the Council’s website.

  • The Council may include links on its website to other websites; the Council is not responsible for the content of those websites or the accuracy of information and/or services provided therein.

  • When choosing to use an external website link via the Council’s website, such use is subject to the terms and conditions of the external website owner.

  • Publishing materials displayed on websites linked to the Council’s website shall not be considered acceptance and/or acknowledgment by the Council of the content of such materials or the services associated with them.

Fifth: Electronic Copies of Documents
  • Electronic copies of the Council’s documents published on its website are available for personal use and for conducting research and studies and/or for educational purposes only.

  • The final version of any Council document is the original printed version.

  • However, the electronic version shall be recognized if signed by the Council’s responsible and authorized official; in the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the version kept by the Council shall prevail and be binding. .

Sixth: Arabic and English Versions

Information is published on the Council’s website in both Arabic and English; if a discrepancy exists between the two, the original printed Arabic version kept by the Council shall prevail

Seventh: Governing Laws

This document is protected by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates. National courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the interpretation or application of this document.

Eigth: Amendments

The Council may amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice to the user, and continued use constitutes implied acceptance.

Ninth: Final Provisions
  • The Council shall not, in any circumstances, be liable for direct, incidental, indirect, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Council’s website, including but not limited to loss of income or anticipated profits, damage to reputation, business loss, data loss, or malfunction or disruption of computing devices.

  • In the event of a violation of these Terms and Conditions, the Council will take and pursue all legal measures, which expose the violator to legal liability and judicial prosecution.

Personal Data Protection Commitment

The Council is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of information and personal data and shall not disclose such data to any third party except in cases of disclosure stipulated under the legislation in force in the State. The Council undertakes to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to apply the necessary standard requirements for protecting and securing users’ personal data, ensuring its confidentiality and privacy, while taking into account the nature, scope, and purposes of its processing. Approval of this Usage Policy and the Terms and Conditions attached thereto shall constitute the user’s consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes and within the scope prescribed by law.
